12 Foods You Don’t Have to Buy Organic

The Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit organization that advocates for policies that protect global and individual health, produces the Shopper’s Guide to Pesticides in Produce. It is based on the results of nearly 43,000 pesticide tests.

Organic fruits and vegetables are by definition grown without the use of pesticides.
But some find the expense of organic foods prohibitive.

Of the 43 different fruit and vegetable categories in the Guide to Pesticides, the
following twelve foods had the lowest pesticide load when conventionally grown.
Consequently, they are the safest conventionally grown crops to consume:

  • Broccoli
  • Eggplant
  • Cabbage
  • Banana
  • Kiwi
  • Asparagus
  • Sweet peas (frozen)
  • Mango
  • Pineapple
  • Sweet corn (frozen)
  • Avocado
  • Onion

Vital Body Chemistry

Vital Body Chemistry

To maintain health or correct disease it is vitally important that body chemistry be balanced.

High acidity of body tissues is the cause of many diseases, especially the arthritic and rheumatic diseases. All food that is digested in the body leaves an ash, as if burned. This food ash can be neutral, acid or alkaline, depending on the mineral composition of the consumed food.

To restore or maintain health it is important there be a proper ratio between acid and alkaline food ash. The ideal, natural ratio in a normal healthy body is about 4 to 1: four parts alkaline to one part acid, or 80% to 20%.

The human body has a strong resistance to disease when the ideal 80/20 ratio is maintained.

Because most patients have high levels of acid (acidosis), consuming foods with high levels of alkaline elements can speed up recovery. A diet rich in alkaline-ash foods will offset the effect of acidosis and leave a safe margin of alkalinity in reserves.

A healthy body stores alkaline, in reserves, and will use them when too many acid-producing foods are consumed. These reserves, however, can be depleted and when the alkaline-acid ratio drops to 3 to 1, health can be seriously threatened.

A human body will function normally and sustain health only in the presence of adequate alkaline reserves, when the proper acid-alkaline ratio in the body tissues and blood is maintained.
